THE TWO MAIN TYPES OF TRANSPORT TRAINING

Accredited Training is provided by a Registered Training Organisations (RTO’s) and are aligned to units of competency required usually for accreditations qualifications.  They are generally formal, and delivered offsite, completed online or thrown into support, Vehicle Licence courses to make them more attractive and meet licence compliance obligations – e.g. basic fatigue management, load restraint, etc.  They can be expensive, include other topics not relevant to your business and take staff away from the workplace for long periods.
Non-accredited Training can be built and delivered to meet the specific needs of the business and its people.  Non-accredited training can be delivered by industry subject matter professionals (SMP) rather than qualified trainers or teachers and can be delivered when required on site at the convenience of the company. This type of training is suitable for:

• Staff induction
• Supporting change management
• Training in specific site equipment, policy, procedure or management systems
• When accredited training isn’t required or doesn’t cover the training topic
• When you want a holistic training system purpose built for your company
• Meeting compliance requirements not requiring accredited training – e.g. mass management awareness, vehicle inspection and Work diary use
